Coach Osborn has 18 years of experience coaching basketball. After playing college basketball at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor he started coaching on the staff immediately. He was the first assistant at UMHB for six seasons before taking his first head basketball position at Troy High School in Troy, Texas. During his time at Troy they had their best season in 15 years and he was offered the head basketball job at Belton High School. His five seasons at Belton have been those most successful since they went to the highest classification in UIL sports. After five seasons at Belton, Coach Osborn decided to take a varsity assistant job in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area at L.D. Bell High School. He serves as the defensive specialists for the program.
Coach Osborn grew up in Littleton, Colorado where he grew up being coached by his father and Gary Goings, whom holds the most wins in Colorado High School basketball history. He came to Texas in high school where he played for Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Texas. Under his coach, Joe Rushing, Coach Osborn went 64-6 in his two seasons on varsity and ended his high school career in Austin in the UIL State Semi-Finals.
After high school Coach Osborn signed a scholarship to play at Division II Colorado Christian. After one year he decided to transfer and finished his career where he was the starting point guard for UMHB. During his two years at UMHB they made the NAIA National Tournament.
He is excited about coaching the 6th grade black team. He will have a fan base there with his wife Laura, and kids Kierstan, Madeline, and Jackson.
